The New 3G iPhone? Pictures Included!

Pictures that were supposedly leaked through CrunchGear earlier today had quite the convincing group of photos of the new 3G iPhone. They’re by far some of the most interesting photos released yet and depict a new black and red colored iPhone. Unfortunately, we think you should wait before assuming these are the real deal.

Without fail, rumor sites glommed onto the new photos depicting our long-awaited 3G iPhone. In an unusual spectacle, CrunchGear, which doesn’t tend to focus on Apple rumor stories released a group of 9 photos. The photos showed back and front of black and red 16 GB iPhones. The photos also show a new feature, iPhone video chat through the iChat client (or so it’s assumed). The phone would supposedly do this through a front side camera that could focus on the users face.

At first they appear to be the real deal and quite convincing. But look closer and the flaws seem to come clear. In general, the pictures are quite choppy and depict the iPhones in non-Apple standard design. Then there’s the fact that the Product (RED) iPhone doesn’t actually say “Product (Red),” it simply reads, “(RED).” All other “(RED)” products have the “Product” title ahead of “(RED).” But by far the most troubling aspect of these pictures is the fact that the RED iPhone doesn’t have a Hold Switch at the top of the iPhone, unlike its counterpart.

I guess will have to wait two more days until we see the finished product!

P.S. Apple has consistently demanded, by penalty of law, to remove product pictures that have been leaked. So theoretically, these photos would’ve been removed by now if they were the real deal.
